Graduate, Ph.D. Application

To apply for the Master of Science in Urban Studies program, the Master of Urban and Regional Planning program, or the Ph.D. in Urban Studies program, please download, complete and submit the Department of Planning and Urban Studies application form to the coordinator of the program to which you are applying.

Dissertation Research Agreement

To register for dissertation research, please download, complete and submit this Dissertation Research Agreement to the Ph.D. in Urban Studies Graduate Coordinator and the chair of your dissertation committee. Students cannot register themselves for dissertation research; department consent is required. Students with co-chairs are required to complete a different Dissertation Research Agreement (co-chairs).

Examination or Thesis Only Agreement

To register for this session, please download, complete and submit this Examination or Thesis Only Agreement to the relevant program coordinator and the chair of thesis, dissertation or final project committee. Students cannot register themselves for this course; department consent is required. Student with co-chairs are required to complete a different Examination or Thesis Only Agreement (co-chairs).

Independent Study Agreement for Doctoral Students

To register for independent study, please download, complete and submit this Independent Study Agreement for Doctoral Students to the Ph.D. in Urban Studies Graduate Coordinator, the professor who has agreed to work with you, and your advisor. Students cannot register themselves for an independent study session; they should contact their program coordinator after obtaining approval from the supervising faculty member. Please note that the program coordinator will not enroll students in an independent study course without written approval from the supervising faculty member (email notification is acceptable).

Graduate Assistantship Application for Financial Aid

To apply for an assistantship, please complete and e-mail this application, an electronic copy of your resume and an electronic copy of a writing sample to your program coordinator.
