Buildings
A green building is one that is considered sustainable over the life of the structure: from design through construction and maintenance to decommission. Consumption of natural resources is minimized, a healthy interior environment is provided, while reducing overall operating costs and increasing user productivity. Buildings consume significant amounts of energy and are the largest generator of green house gas emissions on campus. Constructing new buildings and renovating existing ones can both be accomplished with sustainability in mind.
